What the research says

IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an 83-amino-acid analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1: the human sequence with arginine in place of glutamic acid at position 3, plus a 13-amino-acid extension at the start of the chain. Those two changes cut its binding to the IGF-binding proteins that hold native IGF-1 in check, so it stays active far longer. Most of its literature comes from cell-culture work, where it is a common growth supplement. It is not approved as a medicine anywhere and has not received FDA approval. Supplied as lyophilized powder in a sealed vial.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know a lot is what it claims to be?

From that lot's certificate of analysis, not from what the supplier asserts. The certificate names the laboratory that took the measurement, the date, the task number, the method and the purity found. PeptoClinic publishes the full reports uncropped, exactly as the laboratory printed them.

What is a certificate of analysis and how do you read one?

It is the report an analytical laboratory issues on a specific sample. Four things are worth checking: which compound it claims to have measured, by what method (HPLC for purity, mass spectrometry for identity), what figure it found, and whether the task number can be verified against the laboratory. A certificate with no verifiable task number is a picture.
